TEAMWORK . RESPECT . CONFIDENCE . FITNESS

The practice of martial arts is beneficial on many levels. It increases self-confidence, develops physical fitness and well-being, sharpens the mind and most importantly, it is also a lot of fun. These reasons and more are why GAMMA has opened its doors to the next generation of martial artists with our Youth Program.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Muay Thai

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai are two of the fastest rising martial arts in the world today. We encourage kids and teens to come try one, or both, of these amazing disciplines.

Through intricate positioning and submission holds, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is no less than the ultimate physical chess match. This art will develop both physical ability and mental dexterity in a safe and competitive atmosphere. To learn more, visit the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu page. The instructor is Patricio Canales, read more about him on the instructor's page.

Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, is an ancient form of kick boxing from Thailand. What hockey is to Canada, Muay Thai is to Thailand. Using punches, kicks, knees and elbows, this striking art is the ultimate workout. Our program has been designed specificaly for kids, ensuring that it is practiced in a safe and stimulating atmosphere. To learn more, visit the Muay Thai page. The instructor is Patrick Charron, read more about his experience with kids and Muay Thai on the instructor's page.

Equipment and class times

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is practiced with a Gi, or Kimono. We will happily lend one for a trial class, but students are expected to eventually get their own. Muay Thai involves the use of boxing gloves, shin guards, hitting pads and many other tools. As with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we can lend out some gloves for a trial class, but we do ask that students have their own pair eventually. Everything else is supplied by the Academy. As students become more advanced, they may require a mouth guard and protective cup for some light controlled sparring-type exercises. We have all of this equipment available at our GAMMA Gear store, drop in and check it out any time.

Our Youth program is currently on hold. We hope to have it up and running again in the new year at a new location. For more information, please contact Patrick Charron at 514-238-1694.
