Following the scare of losing MMA in Quebec and the UFC in Montreal, the XMMA 7 event went off without a hitch. Looks like MMA is here to stay. On this night, BTT Canada fighters were well represented with Tim Wadsworth and Dereck Gauthier both displaying their skills with dominant first round victories.

Following a brief stand-up exchange, Tim quickly displayed his superior ground skills, taking his opponent to the ground easily, mounting him and securing the fight-ending armbar, giving him his 4th straight victory in his young MMA career.

Dereck Gauthier has been sidelined for more than a year due to a herniated disk injury suffered in training. After a solid training camp, including a trip to Thailand and improving his grappling with the BTT Canada team. Both of his stand-up and grappling skills were on display in this fight. After catching his opponent's leg he delivered two quick chopping leg kicks and took him down with a third. Once on the ground, Dereck's skills were obviously superior, securing the fight-ending triangle in the first round.
