Steve Bosse wins at TKO 35, Samuel Guillet to fight for XMMA Lightweight Title, and more...

October 4, 2008 - Following a stressful couple days as he had his opponent changed 3 times in 2 days, Steve Bosse survives a scary first round and comes out victorious at TKO 35, held at the Montreal Bell Centre. Originally scheduled to take on Lance Evans, an injury forced Evans out and he was quickly replaced by Sherman Pendergarst. At the weigh-in, Pendergarst, who had just recently fought and lost by TKO, was deemed unfit to compete and so Bosse was assigned a thirsd fighter in Sebastien Gauthier. Having been called by Gauthier once before, Bosse accepted the last minute replacement.

The fight started with Bosse landing a solid right and knocking Gauthier down. Once on the ground hower, Gauthier took advantage of a considerable size difference and took Bosse's back and was very close to securing the rear naked choke until Bosse was able to get the sweep, end up in his opponent's guard, and finish him off with some solid ground and pound. Considering the many opponent changes, this was a huge psychological victory for Bosse, who is still a relative newcomer to the sport of MMA. He improved his record to 4-1.
